S P L Garments

We’ve been here at 5/11 on Old Mahabalipuram Road for a while now. Sholinganallur is always busy, especially with all the cars and people going to work, but our little spot stays mostly focused on the fabric and the machines. S P L Garments isn't a big factory or anything like that. It’s just us working with cloth every day. Some days the piles of material get pretty high and we have to move things around just to find a place to sit for lunch. It gets warm in the afternoons, but we keep the fans going and just get through the orders. Most people know us because we’ve been in this building for years. We don't really do much advertising. People just walk in or call us when they need something done. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but that’s just how it is around here. We try to keep things simple. There’s always a lot of thread on the floor by evening and someone has to sweep up before we head home. The address is 5/11, right on the main OMR stretch. It’s a practical place, nothing fancy. We just focus on getting the stitching right and making sure the clothes are ready when we said they would be. It’s hard work, but it is what we know how to do best with our hands.
