Our place is out in the Sidco Industrial Estate in Ambattur. If you’ve ever been to this part of Chennai, you know it’s mostly factories and workshops. We are at unit number 214. It’s not the quietest area, with all the machines and trucks moving around all day. Rr Leather Products is where we handle all our leather work. The smell of tanned hides is something you notice as soon as you walk through the door, but we don't even smell it anymore. We have a small group of people here who have been with us for years. We spend our mornings checking the materials and the rest of the day getting orders ready. There’s always dust from the cutting and scraps on the floor that we have to sweep up every evening. It’s a practical space, mostly taken up by workbenches and heavy tools. We don’t have a front desk or a waiting room because we are too busy in the back. Sometimes the heat in Ambattur gets pretty bad, so we keep the fans going full speed. We aren't trying to be some big corporate entity; we just run a factory that makes things out of leather. Every day is pretty much the same routine of cutting, stitching, and packing. It’s steady work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday.
