Global Leathers

Working out of 486 A NSK Complex in the Thandal Kalani area of Redhills is what we do every day. The GNT Road is always busy outside, and you can hear the traffic from the shop floor constantly. We have stacks of leather skins piled up against the back walls in various colors. Some days it is just about sorting through them to see what is still good and what has marks on it that we can't use. The lighting isn't the greatest in the back corner of the room, so we often move the pieces closer to the front door to check the grain. It gets really hot in the afternoons, especially when the sun hits the metal roof of the complex. We have a few old fans that help a bit, but mostly you just get used to the heat. It’s a practical place, not meant for showing off. We keep our tools on a wooden rack that someone built years ago. Most of the guys here have been working with leather for a long time, so they know the feel of it without even looking. We get deliveries on big trucks that have to squeeze into the complex parking area, which is always a bit of a headache for everyone. The floor is concrete and has some cracks here and there from the weight of the machines. It’s just where we work and handle the materials that come through Redhills.
