Ramco Cement

We are located at No 30 on Tiruvallur High Road. It's right in the Sidco Industrial Estate in Villivakkam. If you know the area, you know it's a hub for building materials and small workshops. Our place is full of bags of cement stacked high. It's a heavy job, lifting and moving those bags all day long. We've been here long enough that most of the local drivers know exactly where to pull in. The air usually has a bit of that grey dust in it, but we're used to it by now. We aren't doing anything revolutionary here at Ramco Cement; we just supply cement to people who are building houses or shops around the city. The office is small, just enough room for a desk and a few chairs for when customers come in to settle their bills. We try to keep things moving quickly because nobody likes waiting around in the heat. Sometimes the traffic on Tiruvallur High Road makes it hard for the lorries to get in and out, but we find a way to make it work. It's a family-run kind of feel even though we have a few extra hands helping out in the warehouse. We don’t go in for fancy advertisements. Most of our business comes from people who just know our name from being around so long. We keep our heads down and do the work. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s a steady one.
