Thangam Cement Works

Down here on Thazambor Road in Navalur, things get pretty dusty. We are right near Ags Cinemas, so there’s always a lot of cars and people moving around, especially on the weekends when there’s a big movie out. At Thangam Cement Works, our day starts early before the sun gets too hot. Most of the time, we’re out back dealing with bags and mixing things. It’s heavy work and your hands get rough after a few years of doing this. The office is just a small room with a fan that makes a lot of noise. We keep our ledgers there and try to keep the dust off the desk, though it’s a losing battle most days. People stop by with their trucks or just walk in to see what we have in stock. We don’t have a fancy website or anything like that. If you need us, you just come down the road and look for the sign. We’ve been part of this Navalur area for a while now and we’ve seen it change a lot with all the new buildings going up. It’s hard work, and by the end of the day, everyone is pretty tired. We just lock up, wash off the grit, and head home. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know how to do, and there’s always something that needs building somewhere nearby.
