Rajalakshmi Engineering

Being in George Town at 912 Bunder Street means dealing with a lot of people every single day. Rajalakshmi Engineering is right in the middle of all that chaos. If you’ve ever walked down Bunder Street, you know how tight the space is for everyone. We’ve got a small shop but we fit a lot of engineering stuff inside. It’s a bit cramped, honestly. We have shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling filled with bits and pieces. Half the time we have to use a ladder just to find what a customer is asking for. My grandfather used to say this area is the heart of Chennai's trade and I think he was right. We don’t have a big corporate sign or a polished showroom. It’s just us, some old desks, and a lot of hardware. The noise from the street is constant—horns, people shouting, and carts moving. You get used to it after a week or two. We drink a lot of tea from the guy who walks around with the flask. It keeps us going during the long afternoons when it's humid. We don't really have a big staff, just a few of us who know where everything is kept. If someone needs a specific part for a machine, they usually end up here eventually. We don't do fancy talk. We just find the part, tell you the price, and that's it.
