Raasi Leathers

Raasi Leathers is located at No. 5 Shaikali Subedar Street in Periamet. If you know Periamet, you know it’s the place for leather. Our street is a bit narrow, so parking can be a real pain if you bring a big vehicle. We’ve been in this building for a long time. It has that specific smell of leather that you just get used to after a couple of days. We spend our time sorting through hides and checking the quality of the skins. It's dirty work sometimes, and our hands are usually stained by the end of the day. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning. We just have fans and the windows. There are only four of us working here right now. We drink a lot of coffee from the shop down the street. The neighbors are all in the same business, so we all know each other well. It’s a competitive area, but we just focus on what’s on our own workbench. We don't spend money on big signs or anything. Most people who need us already know where Shaikali Subedar Street is. We just try to keep the leather moving and make sure nothing sits around for too long. It’s hard work, and your back hurts after a while, but it’s what we know how to do. The ceiling leaks a bit when it rains hard, but we manage to keep the leather dry.
