Project Engineer

I have been working out of No 128 Jothiammal Nagar for a long time now. It is on 7th Street in Saidapet, which is a really crowded and busy part of Chennai. If you have ever tried to park a car around here, you know exactly what I am talking about. Being a Project Engineer in this city is quite a task because of the extreme heat and the constant traffic jams. My office is just a simple room where I keep my drafting board, some old files, and my laptop. It is not very big, but it serves the purpose for what I do. I usually walk to most places nearby if I can because it is much faster than trying to drive through the narrow streets. The neighbors all know me as the engineer who is always carrying around a bunch of rolled-up blueprints. I do not have a fancy reception desk or anyone to answer the phones for me. When someone calls, they talk to me directly. It is a bit disorganized at times, with papers piled up on every surface, but I know where everything is. Most of my day is spent visiting sites around Chennai, dealing with laborers and trying to make sure things are going the way they should. It is exhausting work, especially in the afternoon humidity, but it is what I have always done. I don't use any big marketing talk.
