Pioneer Leather Craft

You can find us at 17/9, Kattur Sadayappan Street in the Periamet area. If you know this part of town, you know it smells like leather and busy streets all day long. We’ve been working with leather for a long time now. The office is small and usually smells like the hides we’re working with or the chemicals used for tanning. It’s not the cleanest place, honestly. There’s scraps of leather and loose thread on the floor most days. We do the crafting right here, so there is always the sound of machines or tools hitting the wooden tables. It's a loud neighborhood with a lot of heavy traffic moving in and out of the narrow roads. We don’t have a website that’s updated or a fancy showroom for people to visit. Most people just know where we are and come by the street. The stairs up to our floor are a bit steep and narrow. We spend our days cutting, stitching, and checking the quality of the leather pieces one by one. It’s hard on the hands after a few hours of work. We’re just a small group of people who know how to handle leather well. We’ve seen other shops in Periamet come and go, but we keep our heads down and keep working at 17/9. It's just a regular workshop where we try to get the orders finished on time without too much fuss. We just want to make stuff that lasts and get it shipped out to our customers.
