Future Farms

You can find us over at 4/640 on the 12th Link Iii Cross Street, just off the I Main Road in Nehru Nagar, Kottivakkam. It’s a bit of a tucked-away spot, but we like it that way because it gives us the room we need to focus on our plants. We aren't a traditional farm with huge fields; instead, we use a more modern setup to grow things in a controlled environment. Most of our day is spent walking between the rows of plants, checking the water levels and making sure the lights are doing their job. Chennai heat can be pretty brutal, so we have to stay on top of the cooling systems or everything would wilt pretty fast. The floor is usually a bit wet and there is always a faint smell of earth and nutrients in the air. It’s just a few of us running the place, so we all end up doing a bit of everything, from planting seeds to fixing the plumbing. We don't have a big sales team or a fancy storefront. Most people who buy from us just know us through word of mouth. It’s a lot of trial and error to get the crops just right, but we enjoy the process. We just want to produce something good without overcomplicating the whole thing. It’s a quiet life here in Nehru Nagar, just tending to the greens every day and making sure the harvest is ready on time.
