Star Leather

We are located on the second floor of a building on Wuttucattan Street. It’s number 27, right near the Street Travel office if you are looking for us. You have to walk up the stairs to get to where we work. The smell of leather is the first thing you notice when you walk inside. It’s a smell we have grown very used to over the years. Being on the second floor means we get a bit of a breeze sometimes, which is nice when it gets stuffy. We spend the day cutting and stitching and making sure the pieces fit together. It is hard on the fingers after a while, but that is just the nature of working with leather. Mohd Ismail is the area we’ve been in for a while now. We don't have any big signs or flashy lights outside. It’s just a plain workspace with a few tables and our tools. Sometimes we lose track of time when we are busy with a big order. The street outside is always full of people and vehicles, so it can be pretty loud. We just keep our music playing or talk amongst ourselves while we finish the daily tasks. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s what we do. We take our time with each piece because rushing usually leads to mistakes we don't want. It’s just about being careful and getting the work out of the door.
