Leather Park

Our place is at 11/6 Vepery High Road, right in the Periamet area. If you know this part of town, you know it’s famous for leather. We are surrounded by other shops and traders. It’s a competitive spot but we’ve been here for a long time. The building is older, with high ceilings that help keep it cool in the summer. We have racks and racks of skins stacked up. Browns, blacks, tans, and some brighter colors too. The floor is mostly covered in leather dust. We don't worry too much about the decor. The focus is on the stock we have. We spend our mornings checking the quality of the new arrivals. Sometimes we find a hide that isn't quite right and we have to set it aside. The street outside is always congested with carts and bikes. It makes for a lot of noise, but it's the heartbeat of Periamet. We drink a lot of tea while we talk to customers. There’s a small stove in the corner for that. We don't have a website that does much, we mostly just talk to people face-to-face. It’s a hands-on business. You have to touch the leather to know if it’s what you want. We’ve been doing this long enough to know what to look for. It’s just us here, making sure things move along every day. We usually close up around six when the traffic starts getting really bad.
