Global Leather Exports

We are over here at No. 5 Kattur Sadyappan Street in Periamet. It’s always busy around here. You can smell the leather from down the road before you even see our door. Most days we are just moving hides around or checking on orders. Global Leather Exports is what we call ourselves but it’s really just a few of us in a room with a lot of heavy material. The street is narrow so parking is a nightmare. Usually, someone is shouting about a truck blocking the way. We’ve been in this spot for a while now. The walls could use some paint but we don't really have the time for that. My desk is covered in samples and tea cups. Periamet has always been the place for this kind of work. We get people coming in asking for all sorts of leather scraps. Sometimes it’s quiet but usually, the phone is ringing. We handle the export side of things mostly. It involves a lot of paperwork that sits in stacks on the shelf. I try to keep it organized but sometimes things get buried. We don't have fancy furniture or a big lobby. It’s just a workspace. If you come by, you’ll probably see us drinking tea or arguing with a delivery guy. That’s just how it is on Sadyappan Street. We just keep our heads down and get the leather moved out to wherever it’s supposed to go.
