Esha Overseas operates out of No. 14 Covelong Muthugramani Street in Periamet. It’s the same building we’ve used for a while, and it suits us just fine for the kind of work we do. Being in Periamet means we are right in the thick of things when it comes to the local trade scene. Every morning, the street starts filling up with vehicles and workers, and that’s usually when we get started too. Our focus is on getting things shipped out to places far away, which means we spend a lot of time looking at maps and shipping routes. It’s a lot of repetitive work, checking weights and measures and making sure the labels are stuck on right. We don’t really have any big meetings or anything like that; we just talk across the desks to get things sorted. The office can get a bit warm during the middle of the day, so we usually take a break when the sun is at its highest. There’s a lot of history in this part of town, and you can see it in the old buildings and the way people do business here. We just try to keep our head down and get the containers moving on time. It’s not always easy with the delays at the port, but we do what we can. We’ve got a good routine going now, and the neighbors all know us by name and stop by to say hello.
