Leather Craft is located on the 2nd Floor of No. 7 in Periamet. We are right near Durga College, so we see a lot of students walking by every day. Periamet is the heart of the leather trade, and you can smell it as soon as you turn the corner. Our workshop is up the stairs, and it’s always filled with the scent of tanned hides and glue. We’ve been working with leather for a long time. It’s a tough material, and your hands get calloused after a while. We don't have a big store with glass cases. It’s more of a place where we cut, stitch, and finish the goods. The 2nd floor gets a nice breeze sometimes, which helps with the fumes. We make bags, belts, and whatever else people ask for. It’s a messy process, with scraps of leather all over the floor by the end of the day. Being near the college means we get some young energy around the building, which is nice. We aren't trying to be a high-end fashion brand. We just make things that last. It’s honest work, and we take our time with each piece. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to do things by hand, but that’s just part of the trade here in Periamet. We just stick to the traditional ways of making things that people actually use.
