P S M Cement Block

Our place is called P S M Cement Block and we are located at 15-C on the Pulianthope High Road. We are right in the Pulianthope area, very close to Anand Cycle Stores. Most people use the cycle store as a way to find us since they have been there for such a long time. We mostly make and sell those heavy cement blocks that people use for walls and foundations. It is a very physical job and we are always covered in grey dust by lunchtime. The yard is usually full of rows of blocks drying out in the sun. We have to be careful how we stack them so they don't break or fall over on someone. The High Road is always packed with cycles, autos, and people walking, so getting our delivery trucks in and out takes a bit of patience. We have a small shed where we keep the mixer and the molds. It’s nothing special to look at, just a place of work where we get things made every day. Sometimes the water supply is a bit slow and that makes it harder to mix the concrete, but we manage to get through it somehow. Neighbors often complain about the noise of the machines, but they also come to us when they need to build a small wall or fix a shed. It’s a tough way to make a living but it keeps us busy and we like being part of this local community. We just keep our heads down and work.
