P. S. Export & Import Co. has its office at 15, Vellalar Street, within the Ambattur Estate. This is an industrial area, so there is always the sound of machinery and heavy trucks nearby. Our building is just a plain concrete structure that serves as our base of operations. Inside, the floors are hard and the walls are a simple grey. We have a few desks arranged in the center of the main room where we handle all the import and export details. It is a busy place, and there is usually someone coming in or out with a clipboard. We don't have air conditioning in the warehouse part, so it gets pretty warm in the afternoons. We just drink plenty of water and keep the big shutters open to get a breeze. Most of our day is spent coordinating with drivers and making sure the cargo is ready. It is a lot of physical work combined with some tedious paperwork. We've been in Ambattur Estate for a long time, so we know the other business owners on Vellalar Street quite well. If someone needs a hand moving something heavy, we usually step out to help. It is a tough, hardworking environment, but it feels right for what we do. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing team. We just have our address and our reputation for getting things where they need to go.
