P. S. Apparels

Guindy is a busy part of the city, and being on Race Course Road means there is never a quiet moment outside. P. S. Apparels is located at number 15. The building has been here for years. Inside, you can hear the constant hum of sewing machines. It’s a sound you stop hearing after the first hour of work. We have rows of tables where people are cutting patterns and checking seams. There are piles of fabric in every color you can think of, mostly cottons and blends. We don't have a fancy lobby. You just walk in and you're right in the middle of the work. The light coming through the big windows is good for seeing the threads, which helps on cloudy days. We have a small tea stall just down the road where we all go around four o'clock. It’s a good way to clear the head before the final push of the day. We deal with a lot of local orders and some that go further away. My sister keeps track of the inventory while I make sure the machines are being oiled properly. We aren't trying to be a big fashion house. We just make clothes that people can actually wear. The traffic on Race Course Road can be a mess in the evening, so we usually stay a bit late to let it clear out.
