P B Appiah

The shop is at 46, High Road, right in the Tondiarpet area over by Moolakkadai. It’s a busy part of town, so there is always traffic and people walking past the front door of P B Appiah. We’ve been at this location for years, and the building has seen better days, but it serves us well enough. We don't have a big corporate team or anything like that, just a few of us making sure things run right every day. High Road is always loud with horns and people shouting, but you get used to it after a while. We handle various bits of business that come our way, mostly dealing with people who have been coming to us for a generation. It’s not a high-tech setup here. We use old desks and the floor is a bit uneven, but it doesn't matter much for what we do. Tondiarpet is a tough neighborhood but friendly if you know the people. We try to keep things simple and avoid any unnecessary fuss. Sometimes we run out of stock and have to wait for the delivery from the city, which can be a headache with the Moolakkadai traffic. But we just keep going. We don't have a mission statement or a fancy philosophy. We just open up, do the work that needs doing, and close up when the sun goes down. It is a plain way of living, but it works for us.
