Our office is right on Anna Salai in Teynampet. If you know Chennai, you know how crowded it gets around here. We are inside the Precision Plaza building on the first floor, flat number twelve. It is not a very big space but it works for what we do in the trading business. We spend a lot of time on the phones and handling paperwork for various international deals. The traffic outside is always loud, so we usually have the windows shut. People come in and out all day for meetings or to drop off documents. It’s a plain office with desks and some computers, nothing too flashy. We’ve been at this address for a bit now and the local tea stall downstairs is where we usually take our breaks. Trading is a lot about timing and making sure the shipments are moving. We deal with all sorts of goods, and every day brings something different to look at. Sometimes things get delayed at the port or there’s a problem with the paperwork, but we just sit down and sort it out. Being in the heart of Chennai means we are close to everything, which helps when we need to get to other offices quickly. It is just a regular group of us working here to make sure things keep moving along.
