We are based at 93, AKP Thottam in Tiruppur, which is a very busy part of the city. If you know anything about Tiruppur, you know it is all about garments and exports, and we are right in the thick of it. Our office is a practical space where we manage our global export business. It is usually quite hot, so we have the fans running all day long. The building is simple and sits among many other similar workshops and offices in the thottam. We have a small group of people working here, mostly focusing on the coordination between the local mills and the international buyers. It involves a lot of time spent on the phone and checking the quality of the items before they go out. We do not have any corporate polish or a fancy lobby for visitors. You just walk in and see us at our desks working away. The streets outside are always crowded with small trucks and bikes carrying rolls of fabric. It is a loud and energetic place to be. We have been operating from this address for a while and have built up some good relationships with the local suppliers. We just take each day as it comes, trying to make sure the shipments leave on time and the documents are in order. It is a lot of work, but it keeps us busy. Sometimes we grab lunch at the small mess nearby when we have the time.
