About Sri Sivasai Fashion – Fashion & Trends in Chennai
We have been here at No. 19/2 on Budha Street for a good while now. Old Washermenpet is always loud and crowded, but that is just how it is around here. If you come by, you will see rolls of fabric stacked up near the entrance because we run out of shelf space pretty fast. Sri Sivasai Fashion is not a big fancy showroom or anything like that. It is just a work space where we get things done. Most days, the sewing machines are going from early morning until the sun goes down. Sometimes the thread gets tangled or a needle breaks, and we have to stop and fix it, which takes time. My cousin helps out with the cutting, and he is usually faster than me. We don't have air conditioning, so we keep the fans on full blast all day long, especially in the summer months when it gets really hot inside. The neighbors sometimes complain about the noise, but we try to keep the doors shut when it gets too much. People from the area know where to find us. We just handle the orders as they come in and try not to get too behind on the schedule. It is a lot of hard work and my back usually hurts by five o'clock. We don't really do much advertising because there is no time for it. We just stay busy here on Budha Street.
