Hand Tex Fabric

You’ll find us at number 1, Rangian Lane, over in Old Washermenpet. If you’ve ever been to this part of town, you know how narrow the lanes are and how busy everything feels. It’s a real old-school area for fabric. Our shop is right in the middle of it all. Inside, it’s mostly just shelves and piles of different fabrics. It’s a bit dark in some corners because the buildings are so close together. We spend our days measuring out cloth and talking to the people who come in. There’s always a lot of dust from the cotton, so we are used to sneezing a bit. It’s a very local way of doing business. We know the other guys on Rangian Lane and we all kind of look out for each other. Sometimes the deliveries are a pain because trucks can't get down the lane easily. We have to carry things by hand or use small carts. It’s a lot of physical work, to be honest. We aren't trying to be fancy or look like a showroom. It’s just a workspace where fabric gets handled. We’ve been here for years and the walls could probably tell a lot of stories. It’s just us, some fabric, and a lot of daily hustle in Old Washermenpet.
