Our place is at No. 5 Pmk Nagar in the Mahal area. The address lists West Bengal, and even if the pin code 600034 usually points to another state, we just go by what's on the board. We are a smaller college compared to those giant universities in the middle of a big city. Being tucked into the Pmk Nagar neighborhood makes us feel more like a part of the local community than a big institution. Our building is a simple concrete structure with a few floors of classrooms and an office on the ground level. Most of the students live right around here, so you see them walking in every morning. We don't have a big grass field for sports or anything like that. During the breaks, everyone just hangs out in the hallways or stands near the front gate to talk. The furniture inside is a bit older now, with wooden desks that have been through a lot of classes. Things are kept pretty informal around here. Teachers and students often talk for a while after the lessons are done. It is just a practical sort of place. We focus on getting through the syllabus and handling the exams without too much fuss. There isn't any fancy lobby to wait in. If you walk in, someone will usually be there to point you in the right direction. Fans keep the heat away in the afternoons. No. 5 Pmk Nagar is our spot.
