Being over on Josier Street is quite different from being out in the country. Nungambakkam is always busy. At No 39, we are right in the middle of it. You can hear the traffic all day long. Jasmine Concrete Exports Pvt. Ltd. has been here at this address for a good bit. The building is older, but it works for what we do. Parking is a nightmare sometimes. If you come by in the morning, you might find a spot, but later on, forget it. We spend a lot of time on the phones and handling the export side of things. It’s more desk work than you’d think. My desk is near the window, so I watch the street. There's a tea stall right down the way that makes a decent ginger tea. We go there at least twice a day. The office gets a bit cramped when we have all our files out. We aren't trying to impress anyone with fancy furniture. It's just chairs and tables and computers. We try to keep things organized, though it doesn't always look like it. Nungambakkam has a lot of energy. Sometimes it’s too much, but it keeps us awake. We handle the concrete side of the business from here. It's mostly coordinating things. We don't have the heavy stuff on site here, obviously. It’s just the main hub for the paperwork and the talking. Some days the internet goes slow and we just have to wait. It's just how the days go in this part of town. We stay busy enough to keep the doors open.
