Parrys is a very crowded part of the city and we are right in the thick of it at 165 Angappa Naicken Street. Nannooh Bros. has been operating out of this location for a long time. It is an old building with a lot of character, which is just a nice way of saying the walls could use some fresh paint. We have a few rooms filled with all sorts of things. Sometimes the noise from the traffic on the street is so loud that we have to shout just to hear each other over the horns. It is mostly family members running the show here. My uncle was the one who started it all and now we are just trying to keep things moving along. We do not have a fancy website or any of those modern marketing teams. We just focus on the business at hand. The stairs are quite narrow and steep, so carrying heavy boxes up and down is a real workout for us every single day. We see all kinds of people walking past our front door. Some people stop in to chat for a bit while others are clearly in a big rush. We sell what we can and try to keep everyone satisfied. Usually, the morning is when things get really busy around here. By the time afternoon rolls around, it gets a little quieter and we can finally catch up on our ledger books. It is a simple way to live.
