Nandi Krushi

We are located at G-8 in the Vyasarpadi Co-Operative Industrial estate on E.H. Road. It’s a bit of a rough-and-tumble area with lots of trucks and machines running at all hours. Nandi Krushi is where we keep all our farming supplies and agricultural stuff. The floor is made of solid concrete, which is good because we move a lot of heavy bags and equipment through here. The air is often filled with the sound of the nearby factories, so you have to speak up a bit when you're talking to people. We aren't big on decorations; the walls are mostly bare except for a calendar and a few shelves for the smaller items. Most people who come to see us are from the surrounding villages or people looking for specific tools for their land. We get here early, usually when the mist is still hanging over the road, to beat the heavy traffic that builds up later in the day. The industrial estate has a lot of different businesses, so we’ve made friends with the guys in the units next door. Sometimes we share a pot of tea and talk about the rain or how the crops are doing this year. It is a practical place for practical work. We don't have any air conditioning, so we keep the big shutters open to catch whatever breeze comes our way from the coast. It’s just how we operate day in and day out.
