Nalam Traders

Nalam Traders is located at 86 148, Jani Jhan Khan Road in the Royapettah area. It’s a busy street with a lot of noise and people moving about. Our building is nothing special to look at, just a regular place where we do our business. We’ve been here for a good number of years now. Most of our day is spent dealing with different goods that come in and out. The space inside is quite cramped because we have so many bags and boxes piled up. We don’t have any big corporate structure or fancy software to track things. It’s mostly just us and our handwritten notes. The walls are a bit stained and the floor is worn from all the walking, but it works for what we need. We know the other traders on the road and often talk to them while we’re waiting for a delivery. It gets very humid, so we keep the windows open as much as we can. We don't do much in the way of promotional stuff. People in Royapettah know who we are and what we do. It’s a simple operation and we like it that way. Sometimes the traffic on Jani Jhan Khan Road makes it hard for the trucks to unload, so we have to do it quickly. We just take each day as it comes. It's a lot of manual work and long hours, but it’s a steady way to make a living.
