Sri Kamatchi Leather

If you find yourself in Nagalkeni, you’ll likely pass by Sri Kamatchi Leather. We are at No. 42 Pilliyar Kovil Street, right in the heart of Chrompet. This area is known for its leather work, and we’ve been part of that for quite some time. The smell of the hides is something you just get used to after a couple of days. Our building is right on the street near the temple, so we hear the bells in the morning. It’s a busy little road. Inside, we have stacks of leather waiting to be processed or cut. It’s heavy work and it can be quite messy. We don’t have an air-conditioned office or anything like that; we just work in the open space with the big windows. The floors are usually covered in scraps by the end of the shift. We spend our days checking the quality of the skins and making sure everything is handled properly. It’s a lot of manual labor, but there’s a rhythm to it. People around Chrompet know us as a reliable spot. We don’t do much advertising, mostly just people coming by because they know where we are. It’s a straightforward business. We show up, do the work, and head home when the sun goes down. It’s been that way for years now and we don't see it changing much at all. We just keep our focus on the leather.
