We are located at New No. 162, which used to be Old No. 936, right on Periyar Evr High Road. It can be a bit confusing with the old and new numbers sometimes, but once you find the building, you’ll see we’ve been here a long time. This is where we put together our shoes. It’s a busy operation with a lot of moving parts. There’s the sound of the stitching machines and the smell of glue and leather throughout the day. We don’t have a fancy lobby or anything like that. When you walk in, you’re pretty much right in the middle of where everything happens. We have a crew that’s been with us for a long time, and we all just kind of know what needs to get done. We deal with suppliers and distributors mostly, so there’s always trucks coming and going. The high road is always packed with cars, which makes deliveries interesting sometimes. We just focus on the task at hand and try to stay on schedule. It’s not always perfect, and sometimes a machine breaks down or a shipment is late, but we just deal with it as it comes. We’re just a regular business trying to make a living. No big speeches or fancy promises, just shoes and hard work. If you’re looking for 162, just look for the signs and the stack of crates outside.
