We have been at the Auras Corporate Centre on Dr Radhakrishnan Salai for quite a while now. Mylapore is a busy part of Chennai and there is always something going on outside the windows. People know the building well enough as they pass by. Cements is not a glamorous thing to talk about but it is what we do day in and day out. Most of us here have spent years looking at shipping schedules and production numbers on our desks. The traffic on the Salai can be a real headache in the mornings. You just try to get in and start the day before the sun gets too high. It is a hot city. The office is where we spend most of our time keeping things moving for the company. We don't really do much fancy talk here. It is mostly just making sure the bags get where they need to go and the plants are running right. Some of the staff have been here so long they remember when the area looked completely different. We deal with a lot of paperwork and phone calls throughout the week. Sometimes the tea break is the best part of the afternoon when things get hectic. Being in the 600 004 pin code means we are right in the heart of things. It is loud and it is crowded. We just keep our heads down and get the job done. It is a steady life here at Ramco.
