About Palur Agro Products – Agriculture & Farming in Chennai
Mylapore is a crowded place, and we’re tucked into Loganathan Colony at number 33/4. It’s a tight squeeze for some of the delivery vans, but we make it work. We handle agro products, which means there’s usually a smell of grain or spices in the air around our door. It’s an old building, nothing special to look at. Inside, it’s mostly bags and scales. We spend our days weighing stuff out and bagging it for customers. It’s not glamorous work. Sometimes the floor gets messy and we have to sweep it three times a day. We’ve been in this neighborhood long enough that we know most of the people walking by. We don’t spend money on fancy ads. Word of mouth usually brings people to us. The fans hum all day to keep the air moving because it gets stuffy. We try to keep things organized, but when a big shipment arrives, everything gets a bit chaotic for a few hours. We just focus on getting the orders right. If someone needs a certain type of grain or flour, we find it in the back. It’s a practical business. We show up, we do the work, and we go home. No need for complicated missions or visions. We just sell agro products to people who need them. The rent goes up every few years, but we stay because this is where our regulars are. The noise from the nearby temple is just part of our daily background.
