M.R.K. Engineers

J.N. Salai is always a bit of a mess with the traffic. Our office, M.R.K. Engineers, is on the first floor of 349/350. It’s right there in Ganapathy Colony. Ekkaduthangal is a busy part of town, so there is always noise from the street coming through the windows. We do engineering work here. Most days involve looking at plans or checking data on the computers. The office isn't anything special to look at. We have some old filing cabinets that squeak and a few chairs that have seen better days. There’s a small area where we keep our tools and spare parts. Usually, the radio is on in the background, though half the time nobody is really listening to it. It’s just me and a couple of other guys mostly. Being in this spot for a good while means we know the local shops pretty well. Lunch usually comes from the place around the corner. The lighting in the back room is a bit dim, but we manage just fine. It’s a practical workspace for the kind of stuff we do. Decorating isn't something we spend much time on. As long as the electricity stays on and the internet works, everything is okay. Sometimes the stairs get a bit dusty because of the construction nearby, but that's just how it is around here. We show up, do the engineering tasks, and head home when the sun goes down. It's a simple routine that works for us.
