Motherland Import & Export

We are located on the 2nd floor of 25/1a on Karnan Street in Rangarajapuram, which is right in the heart of Kodambakkam. If you know this area, you know it’s always buzzing with people and bikes. Motherland Import & Export is just a small office tucked away above a local shop. The stairs are a bit narrow and we have to be careful when carrying boxes up and down. We started this business because we saw a gap in how local goods were being sent overseas. It’s mostly just me and a couple of helpers who manage everything from the paperwork to the actual packing. The view from our window is just the tops of other buildings and the busy street below. Kodambakkam is a great place to be because everything is so accessible, even if the noise is a bit much sometimes. We don't have any high-tech systems here. We mostly use a big ledger and an old laptop that takes forever to start up. Dealing with imports is tricky because of all the different rules, but we’ve learned a lot over the years. We usually have lunch together at the small mess down the road. It’s a very grounded way to work. We don't try to sound like a big corporation because we aren't one. We are just local people trying to make a living by helping others move their products across borders. Sometimes things go wrong, but we just fix them and move on.
