Monarch Leather Products

Our workshop and shop is located at 41 Gujji 2 Street in Anna Nagar. If you walk down the street, you can usually smell the leather before you see the sign for Monarch Leather Products. It’s a strong, earthy smell that we’ve grown to love. We’ve been working with leather for a long time. It’s tough on the hands. We have a few old sewing machines that make a lot of noise, but they get the job done. We make things like bags, belts, and small accessories. Nothing is mass-produced in a big factory. We do it right here on Gujji 2 Street. Sometimes a piece of leather has a scar or a mark, and we just leave it because that’s how natural hides are. We aren't interested in making everything look like plastic. Our space is a bit cluttered with tools, thread, and scraps of material. We don't have a fancy showroom. You just come in, see what we're working on, and pick something out. It’s a small operation. Just a few of us who know how to handle the material. We take our time with the stitching. It's slow work, but that's the only way we know how to do it properly. We've been part of the Anna Nagar community for years, just quietly making our goods and chatting with the neighbors who walk by our open door every morning.
