Rajasthan Emporium

You can find us at No. 366 on Mint Street. It is a very crowded street with a lot of history and even more people. Rajasthan Emporium is tucked in among many other shops and businesses. The space inside is a bit narrow, so we have to be careful how we stack the boxes. We have all sorts of things packed onto the shelves. Sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what a customer is asking for, but we usually know where everything is. The air is always filled with the sounds of the street outside—horns honking and people shouting. It’s a lively place to be every day. We don't have air conditioning, so we rely on the ceiling fans and the breeze coming through the door. The floor is old tile and shows its age, but it’s sturdy. We spend a lot of time talking to people who walk in off the street. Some are regulars and some are just passing through. We don't do any big advertising; people just seem to know we are here. It's a simple way of doing business that hasn't changed much over the years. We keep the books by hand mostly because it feels more reliable. It is just a small shop on a busy road, doing what we've always done. We try to keep things tidy but it is a struggle with so much stock. There is always something new to unpack and put away.
