Our office and workspace is at 2/1, 15Th Avenue, Harrington, Chetpet. Millstream Clothing Co Pvt Ltd has been operating out of this neighborhood for quite a while now. Chetpet is a bit more settled than some of the industrial zones, but we still have a lot of work going on inside. We aren't some big corporation with levels of management. It’s just us here, making clothes. We have some long tables for cutting and a row of machines that have seen better days but still run perfectly. The atmosphere is usually pretty relaxed, although we do get into a hurry when a deadline is coming up. We don't have a marketing department to come up with slogans. We just focus on the fabric and the stitching. Our team is small, and most of us live nearby, so we know each other well. We have a small yard where we sometimes take our breaks. It’s nothing special, just a place to breathe. We don't spend much time worrying about how we look to the outside world. We’re more concerned with making sure the seams are straight and the buttons are on tight. If you come looking for us, just find the blue gate on 15th Avenue. We’re usually there from early morning until the sun goes down, just getting through the day’s work. There is always a stack of patterns on the main desk and some radio playing softly.
