We’ve been here at E1-Tvk Industrial Estate in Guindy for quite some time now. Most mornings start with the sound of the gates opening and the humid Chennai air hitting you before the fans get going. Merit Bmh Engineering is just a regular place where people show up, do their engineering work, and try to stay on top of things. The industrial estate is always busy with trucks moving around and people rushing to get their shifts started. We don't have fancy office chairs or anything like that, just sturdy desks and a lot of drawings spread out everywhere. Sometimes the tea guy comes around and that's usually the highlight of the afternoon when things get a bit slow. It's an honest living. We deal with metal, machines, and all those technical details that keep the workshop humming. There is a lot of grease and the smell of cooling oil most days. We've got a small team and everyone knows their job. It's not a place for big speeches, just for getting the fabrication or the design right so it works like it's supposed to. Being in Guindy makes it easy to get parts when we run out of something unexpectedly. Life here is mostly about meeting the deadlines we set for ourselves and making sure the machines we build actually do what they are meant for without a fuss. It’s loud, it’s a bit dusty, but it’s where we spend our days.
