Material Engineers

Material Engineers is located right on Thoppa Mudaliar Street, which is in the heart of Shivaji Nagar. If you know the area, you know how crowded it can get with all the shops and people moving around. Our office is at Door No. 12. It’s an old building, nothing special to look at from the outside, but it’s where we do all our thinking and testing. We deal with various engineering materials, so we have bits of concrete, metal, and soil samples sitting around on shelves. It’s a bit of a dusty environment, but that comes with the territory. The street outside is usually full of parked bikes and delivery vans, so getting in and out can be a bit of a struggle sometimes. Inside, it’s mostly just us looking at reports or talking about the next project. We don’t have a big sign or any bright lights. We just keep our door open for whoever needs to drop off samples or talk about a job. The work is mostly technical, so we spend a lot of time double-checking numbers and making sure everything is correct. It’s quiet inside compared to the noise of Shivaji Nagar, which is nice when you need to focus. We’ve been in this spot for a while, and the neighbors all know us by now. The light in the back office is a bit dim, so we do most of our reading by the front window. Thoppa Mudaliar Street has a lot of character, but the noise from the market can be distracting when you're trying to calculate figures. We've got a small kettle for tea, and we usually take turns going out to get snacks. It’s a simple life here.
