Master Collections

Spencer Plaza is an old place now. Our shop, F60, is up on the first floor in the Phase II section. It’s a bit of a walk from the main entrance on Mount Road, but it’s quieter up here. We have a lot of things on the shelves. It’s a mix of this and that. We’ve been in this mall for years, back when it was the main place people went on weekends. Now it’s different, but we stay. The lighting inside is a little dim in some corners. We try to keep things organized, but when new stock comes in, it just piles up on the floor for a few days. We sit near the front and watch people walk past. Most are just looking for a shortcut to the other side of the building. We have our regulars who know exactly where to find us. The air conditioning works most of the time, which is good because Chennai gets so hot. We spend our time checking the inventory and talking to the neighbors. It’s a steady pace. No one is in a huge rush up here. Sometimes we rearrange the display just for something to do. It’s a lot of waiting and then a sudden burst of being busy. We just keep the shop open and see who comes through the door every afternoon.
