Marson Engineering Works

Our shop is located at Plot No. Sp146-B on the 1st Main Road within the Ambattur Industrial Estate. It’s a massive area, and if you aren’t careful, it’s easy to get turned around in all these numbered plots and side streets. Marson Engineering Works has been operating out of this space for a good stretch of time. The air is usually thick with the sound of metal being cut and heavy machinery from all the neighboring units, but we don't mind the noise. It feels like a place where stuff actually gets built and repaired. We have a solid crew here who doesn't talk much while they work, but they know exactly what they’re doing with the tools and materials. The floor is usually covered in some dust or metal shavings, which is just part of the everyday job. We don’t have a fancy lunchroom, so we usually just gather around a small table in the corner or head out to the main road for a quick bite from a vendor. Chennai heat can get pretty intense in the middle of the day, so we keep the fans going at full speed and just push through the shift. We aren't doing anything revolutionary; we just take the specs we’re given and make sure the engineering holds up. It’s honest work that pays the bills. Most of our neighbors have been here as long as we have, so there’s a bit of a community feel despite all the grease and noise. We like being in Ambattur because everything we need, from raw materials to transport, is right around the corner. We just keep our heads down and work.
