Manufacture Engineer

Down here in Royapuram, things are always moving. We are located at No. 3 in New Kamarajnnagar, right on the 3rd lane. It’s a typical Chennai street, a bit narrow and always smelling like the coast. We deal with engineering stuff, mostly making parts and seeing how they fit together. It’s a dusty job sometimes. The machines make a lot of noise, so we have to talk loudly to hear each other. We’ve been in this lane for a few years now. It’s not a big factory, just a decent-sized workshop where we get things done. We don't use big words or have meetings that last for hours. We just look at the drawings and start working on the metal. Sometimes the shipments arrive late because of the traffic in Royapuram, but we adjust. The humidity is tough on the equipment, so we spend a lot of time cleaning and oiling things. It’s a small team, and we all know how to handle the tools. Most of the people around here know us as the guys who are always fixing something or making something new. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just drop by the shop if they need work done. It’s simple and honest work. We try to keep the floor organized, but with so many projects going on, there’s always something lying around. It’s just the way it goes in a small workshop. We usually finish the day by cleaning up the metal scraps.
