If you walk down Kalingarayan Street in Royapettah, you’ll eventually find number 22. That’s where I, Mahyavanshi Rakesh Kumar, have set things up. It’s a busy part of the city, and the street always has something going on, whether it’s a delivery bike zipping past or neighbors catching up on the latest gossip. My space here is simple. It’s mostly just me and the work that needs to be finished before the sun goes down. I don’t have a big team or a receptionist sitting at the front. When people come by, they usually just knock on the door and see if I’m in. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the desk is usually covered in notes I’ve scribbled to myself so I don’t forget things. Royapettah has a certain energy to it that keeps you moving even on the humid days when you’d rather be sitting under a fan. I’ve lived and worked around here long enough to know the rhythm of the place. It’s not about being the biggest name on the street; it’s about being there when someone needs something done. Every morning I open up, check what’s on the list for the day, and just start. There’s no grand plan, just the daily grind and the satisfaction of finishing a long day’s work. It’s a local life, and it suits me just fine. I just do what I can.
