Madras Community College

You can find us at No 2, Santhome, on Rosary Church Road in Mylapore. This part of Chennai has a lot of history, and we’re glad to be a small part of it. Madras Community College is a place where people come to learn practical skills. It’s not like those big, expensive universities. We’re more about giving people a chance to pick up a trade or finish some schooling they missed out on earlier. The building is simple and right in the heart of the community. We get all sorts of students, from young kids to older folks looking for a change. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed but we take the classes seriously. Mylapore is a busy area, so there’s always noise from the street, but once you’re inside, it’s a bit quieter. We have a few rooms for teaching and a small staff that keeps things running. It’s a lot of paperwork and talking to people about their goals. We don’t have a massive budget for marketing or anything. Word usually spreads just by people talking. It’s an honest place. We try to help where we can and keep the doors open for anyone who wants to learn. It feels more like a big family sometimes than a formal school. We’ve been here for years, and we plan to stay right where we are, helping one student at a time as they walk through our doors.
