Swastik Fashion

The shop is No. 25 on the 11th Cross in Madanandapuram, over in the Porur area. It’s part of the 5th Phase, so it’s a bit deeper into the neighborhood than some of the other places. We’ve been here for a bit now, and the shop is where we handle all the clothing and different fashion items. It’s not a massive space by any means, but we make it work for us. Most days are spent unpacking new stock or helping the people who wander in from the street to look around. The racks are usually pretty tight together, so you have to move things around a bit to see everything we have. We have a small mirror in the corner and a tiny changing area behind a curtain for people to use. The floor is tile and it stays relatively cool even when it’s really hot outside. We don’t have a big staff, just a couple of us who take turns watching the door and folding the clothes. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, and we just sit outside on the front step until it comes back on again. It’s a quiet enough street most of the time compared to the main road. We know most of the people who live around this part of Madan Nagar. It’s just a regular fashion shop where we try to keep the stock updated as much as we can manage.
