Loyola College

We’ve been here in Nungambakkam for quite a while now. If you walk down our stretch of Chennai, you’ll see the old buildings and the trees that have been here longer than most of us. It gets really hot during the day, so people usually look for shade near the gates. There is always something going on, whether it is students rushing to their morning classes or just people sitting around talking about their day. We don't try to be anything fancy at Loyola College. It is just a place where learning happens every day. The neighborhood has changed a lot over the years, with new shops and more traffic, but the college stays mostly the same. You might hear the city noise from the street, but once you step inside, it feels different. We have a lot of history here in this part of Tamil Nadu. Sometimes the hallways are quiet and other times they are filled with the sound of many voices all at once. It can be a bit chaotic during the peak hours when everyone is trying to get somewhere. People come from all over to be here, and they bring their own stories with them. We just provide the space and the classrooms. It is a big campus with plenty of spots to sit and think. We’ve seen many generations pass through these doors, and it is interesting to see how things evolve while staying the same. It is just our corner of the city.
