You can find us at 33, Karpura Mudali Street in Periamet. This part of town is known for leather, so we fit right in with the rest of the shops. Our building is old and the stairs are a bit narrow. We spend most of our time on the upper floors where we keep the materials. Periamet is always crowded, and getting deliveries in and out can be a real headache. We have been here for a long time and know most of the people on the street. Our work involves a lot of sitting down and focusing on small details. We use a lot of different hides, some thick and some thin. The workshop gets quite hot in the afternoon, so we have a couple of noisy fans going all the time. We don't really have a marketing team or anyone to take fancy photos. What you see is just what we do. There are bundles of leather tied up with string everywhere you look. Sometimes we find old patterns we haven't used in years and try them out again. It’s a lot of repetition, but that’s how the work gets done. We close up when the sun goes down and head home like everyone else. The street is quieter then, but the smell of the leather stays in our clothes long after we have left for the day.
