Guindy is a busy hub, and being on G.S.T. Road means we’re right in the middle of all that noise and movement. Our office at 44-D is where Leather Hunte Pvt. Ltd. operates from. It’s an old building, but it does the job just fine. Most of our time is spent dealing with leather batches and paperwork. Chennai heat can be tough, especially when you’re working with raw materials all day, but we have some old fans that keep the air moving. We aren't a massive corporation with a glass lobby and a receptionist. It’s just a few rooms filled with ledgers and leather samples. You can hear the traffic from the road all day long. Sometimes we grab tea from the stall nearby when things get too hectic to handle. We’ve been here for a bit now. The leather trade in this part of town is pretty tight-knit. Everyone knows everyone else’s business. We focus on getting the specs right for our clients. It involves a lot of measuring and double-checking. It’s not glamorous work. There’s a lot of dust and the smell of tanned hides is always around. We don't mind it though. It feels like real work. If the printer jams, one of us has to spend an hour fixing it because we don’t have a tech guy on call. Just regular people doing a regular job. That’s about it for us. We stay busy and try to get home before the evening rush hour hits the road.
