Vogue Sourcing

Our shop, Vogue Sourcing, is at No. 2 on 2nd Cross Street in the Lakshmipuram Extension area of Tambaram. It is a quiet residential neighborhood that has a few small businesses tucked away here and there. We operate out of a small building that used to be a house. It gives the whole place a bit of a homey feel, though it is definitely a workspace now. We spend our days sourcing materials and talking to different manufacturers across the region. There are piles of fabric samples and hardware bits scattered on the big table in the center room. We spend a lot of time on the phone or sending emails to check on prices and delivery dates. It is a lot of back-and-forth work that keeps us busy. Sometimes we have to drive out to meet people or look at goods ourselves before we agree to anything. The street outside is narrow, so we have to be careful where we park our bikes and the delivery vans. We have a small backyard where we sometimes take our lunch when the weather is not too hot. It is just a few of us here, and we have worked together for a long time now. We don't have any fancy signs or a big lobby for visitors. People usually find us by asking around the neighborhood or getting a referral from someone we know. It is a practical way to earn a living.
