Shyamali Clothing Company

Shyamali Clothing Company is at No. 60 on Eri Karai Street in Koyambedu. If you know the area, you know it’s a bit of a mix of residential and small businesses. Eri Karai Street can be quiet in the mornings, but it picks up as the day goes on. Our building at number 60 is a simple place, nothing too fancy from the outside. Inside, it’s mostly just rows of machines and tables where we work. We spend a lot of our time at Shyamali Clothing Company just focused on the tasks at hand. Koyambedu is a busy hub, and being close to it means we are always near the action, even if our street is a bit tucked away. Sometimes the water on the street doesn't drain right after a big rain, but we just deal with it. We don't have a big marketing department or anything like that, just some regular people making clothes. We use simple English and talk to each other about the work that needs to be finished by the end of the week. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it doesn't affect how we work. It’s just an honest, practical workplace. We open the doors early to get a bit of a breeze in because it gets stuffy with all the fabric around. That’s pretty much what life is like here for us on Eri Karai Street.
